The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and Idaho Department of Fish and Game are investigating the illegal killing of a female grizzly bear near Perkins Lake in Boundary County, ID.

The collared bear was shot around Oct. 28 near the Idaho-Montana border. Investigators determined the bear was not posing a threat at the time. A reward of up to $7,700 is being offered for information leading to an arrest, conviction or civil penalty.
