President Donald Trump nominated James Hubbard to be the USDA Under Secretary for Natural Resources and Environment on April 14. Secretary Sonny Perdue said he was very excited about the selection, saying Hubbard would help implement meaningful reform to maintain national forests. “Jim’s service with the Forest Service and the Department of Interior makes him exceptionally qualified for this post, and I am eager to have Jim join the team,” Perdue said of Hubbard, who had previously served in the Forest Service and as director of the Office of Wildland Fire Coordination with the Interior Department. — WLJ
