PETA is calling out three major animal welfare organizations—the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, the Humane Society of the United States, and Compassion in World Farming—for endorsing what PETA calls a deceptive certification program that supports factory farms.
In a letter, PETA urged the groups to step down from the board of Global Animal Partnership, which the group says falsely labels meat, egg and dairy products as “animal welfare certified.”
PETA claims the program has failed to reduce animal suffering, citing their investigations of cruelty at certified facilities and their own decision to leave the board.
