Blue Mountain Community College, in partnership with the Northwest Meat Processors Association, launched the Master Butcher Certificate Program.
Designed for aspiring butchers, those expanding their skills or entrepreneurs, the program covers humane animal slaughter, carcass dressing, muscle identification and butchery of key livestock species. The three-level program begins in March with Level 1: Basic Butchery, offered in a 12-week hybrid format. Levels 2 and 3 focus on Food Safety and Meat Entrepreneurship.
