The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service is proposing the listing of the Nevada Fish Lake Valley tui chub as endangered under the Endangered Species Act (ESA).
The agency said groundwater pumping and invasive species in the valley have resulted in habitat loss for the species. A 60-day comment period closes on July 21.
