The North Dakota Stockmen’s Association (NDSA) and North Dakota Stockmen’s Foundation (NDSF) have launched the Out of the Ashes Wildfire Disaster Relief Program to support cattle ranchers who suffered devastating losses from recent wildfires across the state.

Drought conditions and winds up to 80 miles per hour fueled fires that have burned over 88,000 acres as of Oct. 8. Ranchers face significant losses, including livestock, feed, fences and buildings. The NDSA and NDSF have seeded the fund with $50,000.

Contributions can be made in two ways. Checks should be made to the NDSF with “Out of the Ashes” written in the memo and sent to 4520 Ottawa St., Bismarck, ND 58503. Alternatively, donations can be made online at tinyurl.com/yx69b9hf.

The North Dakota Department of Agriculture has reactivated the Hay Hotline to assist those in need. This service acts as a clearinghouse, connecting individuals who require hay, fencing supplies and other tangible items with those willing to donate.
