The Center for Biological Diversity, along with local Tribes and communities, is urging President Joe Biden to establish a national monument in Southern California and expand Joshua Tree National Park.
The proposal would create a 660,000-acre national monument and add 17,000 acres to the national park.
“Together we’re urging President Biden to use the Antiquities Act to designate these areas for greater protection and public enjoyment,” said Ileene Anderson with the Center for Biological Diversity.
