USDA’s Farm Service Agency (FSA) reminds producers, including those impacted by H5N1, that the deadline to apply for Emergency Assistance for Livestock, Honeybees, and Farm-raised Fish Program (ELAP) is Jan. 30.

ELAP offers financial aid for 2024 losses, including non-drought feed and grazing losses, income loss from dairy cattle removed due to H5N1 and feed destruction from eligible conditions. Additional covered costs include transporting water during drought, hauling feed or livestock due to drought and gathering livestock for cattle tick fever treatment. Producers should contact their nearest USDA Service Center to apply before the deadline.
