More than $1 billion in payments through the Quality Loss Adjustment (QLA) Program and Wildfire and Hurricane Indemnity Program Plus (WHIP+) will be released over the next few weeks.
The programs aid producers who suffered natural disaster losses in 2018 and 2019. QLA helps crop and forage producers who suffered quality losses and WHIP+ provides payments for production losses for crops, trees, bushes and vines.
All producers receiving payments are required to purchase federal crop insurance or Noninsured Crop Disaster Assistance Program coverage for the next two available crop years at the 60 percent coverage level or higher.
