On Tuesday, Aug. 28, the USDA announced the confirmation of James Hubbard as Under Secretary for Natural Resources and Environment.

According to USDA information, under the ongoing reorganization of the USDA-supervised agencies, the position supervises the U.S. Forest Service. Hubbard will be replacing Dan Jiron, who had filled the position as acting deputy undersecretary since mid-June 2017.

“I’m very excited for Jim to finally join our team here at USDA,” said Agriculture Secretary Sonny Perdue in the USDA’s official announcement of Hubbard’s confirmation. “His decades of experience, both in Colorado and across the federal government, make him uniquely qualified for this role and I’m confident that he will hit the ground running.”
