The U.S. Justice Department has announced a trial date for four former Pilgrim’s Pride executives who were indicted last year for price fixing.
Former CEOs Jayson Penn and Bill Lovette and former company executives Roger Austin and Jimmie Little are scheduled for a preliminary hearing in a Denver federal court on Oct. 8. The trial is scheduled to begin Oct. 25.
The executives were indicted last summer for price fixing and rigging bids on broiler chickens. Most of the accused have pled not guilty.
