A number of commerce and business associations have joined Coloradans Protecting Wildlife, a coalition of stakeholders opposed to reintroducing wolves to Colorado, in opposition to the state’s Proposition 114.
The ballot measure would introduce wolves into western Colorado. The following organizations have voiced their opposition: Action 22; Club 20; Denver Metro Chamber of Commerce; Denver Metro Commercial Association of Realtors; Grand Junction Chamber of Commerce; and Pro 15.
Denver Metro Chamber President and CEO Kelly Brough said, “The state of Colorado has a $1.6 billion deficit that it had to close this year already and doesn’t have the financial resources to manage the proactive reintroduction of wolves and what is required of Proposition 114. Further, wolves are naturally returning to our state with evidence of wolves found in northwestern Colorado. We encourage voters to support our ranchers and our economy by voting ‘no’ on Proposition 114.”
