USDA has extended National Institute of Food and Agriculture (NIFA) deadlines due to the COVID-19 outbreak.
The Higher Education Challenge Grant Program deadline has been extended from March 23 to April 2, and the Beginning Farmer and Rancher Development Program has been extended from March 19 to April 2.
Additional deadline extensions include the Agriculture and Food Research Initiative, with new deadlines of April 2, April 9, and April 16 depending on previous deadlines.
The 2021 Plan of Work for Agricultural Research, Extension, and Education Reform Act of 1998 deadline for funded projects and programs has also been extended from April 1 to May 1.
“NIFA’s goal is to provide applicant institutions additional time as they work through any operational challenges within their institutions arising from COVID-19,” the agency said.
“Even with increased flexibilities for applicants, NIFA still recommends applicants submit their applications as soon as possible.”
