Authorized hunting seasons for grizzly bears in Idaho and Wyoming have been delayed for a second time.
As reported in the Sept. 10 WLJ, Dana Christensen, chief judge for the U.S. District Court for the District of Montana, Missoula Division, issued a temporary restraining order (TRO) on Aug. 30, delaying a hunting season that was set to begin Sept. 1. That order expired on Sept. 13 when Christensen issued an extended TRO for an additional 14 days.
In writing his decision, Christensen said the parties involved have had opportunity to present their arguments and “The present extension will provide the court the time it needs to fully consider and respond to the parties’ arguments.”
