Legal Ledger Brief: Governor releases wildlife corridor plans

Wyoming Gov. Mark Gordon has issued a draft for his current pending executive order for wildlife migration corridors.

“My goal with this Executive Order (EO) is to identify solutions that would both protect our wildlife and support our economy through the multiple-use of public and state lands,” Gordon said in a statement.

The draft contains many of the recommendations released by the Migration Corridor Advisory Group back in September, including changes to the design process, establishment of area working groups for corridors considered for designation and a requirement to actively engage landowners prior to corridor design.

Feedback about the draft may be emailed to renny.mackay@wyo.gov. A final version of the EO is expected to be issued soon.
