Legal Ledger Brief: Deregulation of GE corn petition

USDA’s Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS) is requesting public comments on a petition from Monsanto seeking deregulation of a corn variety intended for hybrid seed production genetically engineered (GE) for tolerance to dicamba, glufosinate, quizalofop, 2,4-D, and tissue-specific glyphosate tolerance.

APHIS is interested in comments regarding the potential environmental and economic impacts on the GE corn variety.

The petition is available until July 7, 2020 and may be accessed on regulations.gov by searching for Docket ID APHIS-2020-0021.
