The deadline to apply for COVID-19 relief through USDA’s second round of Coronavirus and Food Assistance Program (CFAP 2) is fast approaching.
Producers have until Dec. 11 to apply for direct aid if they faced market disruptions and associated costs from COVID-19. CFAP 2 will provide up to $14 billion to eligible producers. Eligibility requirements and payment rates can be found at farmers.gov/cfap.
CFAP 2 is a different program from the first round of funding, and a new application must be submitted to be eligible for the second round of aid. USDA recommends producers call department employees at 877-508-8364 for support before contacting a local Farm Service Agency county office. As of Nov. 15, CFAP 2 payments totaled over $10 billion.
