The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) Bristlecone and Caliente field offices, and Basin and Range National Monument continued the Seaman and White River herd areas wild horse gather on Jan. 6.

The herd areas are located just south of Ely, NV. The gather began Nov. 12, 2019 and was suspended Nov. 20 when the remaining horses moved to brush in higher elevations.

BLM initially gathered 294 horses and planned to gather 450 more. The appropriate management level for the herd area is zero wild horses.

All horses gathered will be transported to the Ridgecrest Regional Wild Horse and Burro Corrals in Ridgecrest, CA where they will be prepared for the BLM adoption program.
