Rep. Glenn “GT” Thompson (R-PA-15) introduced the Reducing Farm Input Costs and Barriers to Domestic Production Act in an attempt to curb regulatory burdens and reduce farm input costs.
“This bill will reverse many of the more harmful regulatory burdens spearheaded by this administration, address escalating input costs, and provide certainty to farmers, ranchers, agribusinesses and other entities across our food and ag supply chains,” Thompson said.
The lawmaker said the bill will provide relief from the Environmental Protection Agency’s “unprecedented actions” related to crop protection tools, offer clarity to waters of the U.S. regulations, rescind the Securities and Exchange Commission’s rule on climate-related disclosures, reinstate the 2020 National Environmental Protection Act streamlining, and require an economic analysis on the costs and benefits of Packers and Stockyards Act rules.
