President Donald Trump signed America’s Conservation Enhancement (ACE) Act into law in late October.
The bill was introduced by Sens. John Barrasso (R-WY) and Tom Carper (D-DE) and eight cosponsors in December 2019. “The ACE Act will help protect elk, mule deer, bison and so many more amazing species in Wyoming,” Barrasso said. “The law establishes a task force to address the growing problem of chronic wasting disease. It will compensate ranchers for lost livestock from predator attacks and help combat dangerous invasive species.”
The bill initially passed the Senate in January and in September unanimously passed the Senate in the form of a substitute amendment negotiated with the House of Representatives.
