The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) is seeking nominations to fill three vacancies on the National Wild Horse and Burro Advisory Board.
The advisory board advises the BLM and U.S. Forest Service on the protection and management of wild horses and burros under the Wild Free-Roaming Horses and Burros Act.
The board is made up of nine members. Positions up for nomination represent humane advocacy, livestock management and wildlife management, which will become vacant Oct. 9.
Board members typically serve three-year terms and meet one to four times annually. The position is not paid, but reimbursements for travel and expenses are given. Nominations must be received by Sept. 12.
