Rep. August Pfluger (R-TX-11) and Sen. John Barrasso (R-WY) have penned a letter to the USDA in support of M-44 sodium cyanide devices as predator control for sheep and goat producers.

The letter asks the agency to rollback its ban on purchasing or deploying the devices.

“The continued production of M-44 devices is well within the law and is important to ensure ranchers have access to this safe and effective predation tool,” the letter read.

The letter was co-signed by Sens. Cynthia Lummis (R-WY), Steve Daines (R-MT) and Ted Cruz (R-TX), and Reps. Jake Ellzey (R-TX-06), Jodey Arrington (R-TX-19), Chip Roy (R-TX-21) and Dusty Johnson (R-SD-At large).
