Health and Human Services (HHS) Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. announced that federal health agencies oppose the use of avian flu vaccines in poultry, according to CBS News.
Weighing in publicly for the first time in his new role, Kennedy said that leaders of HHS agencies advised against the vaccine, citing concerns over sterilizing immunity. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recently reaffirmed that while the risk to the public is low, farm workers and veterinarians face higher exposure. Most human cases remain mild.
