JBS donates ear tags for traceability in Brazil

JBS, in collaboration with key stakeholders, is donating 3 million livestock tags to enhance cattle traceability in Pará, Brazil, aiming to track every head of cattle in the state by 2026.

Two million tags will go to small-scale producers, covering half their 2025 needs. Using Bezos Earth Fund support, The Nature Conservancy is contributing the majority of the tags. In 2024, JBS ran a 28,000-head pilot program at its Marabá and Redenção facilities to test the technology and ensure compliance with transit regulations, reinforcing its commitment to sustainable cattle tracking and supply chain transparency, the company said.
