Western Livestock Journal LLC (WLJ) is excited to announce the hiring of Jared Patterson to its team of field representatives. Patterson brings a wealth of broad skills and experience in the industry that will help set WLJ up for another successful 100 years.
Patterson will serve as a field representative for the Western region of California, Nevada, Utah, Idaho, Oregon and Washington. Prior to WLJ, Patterson served as the American Angus Association’s regional manager for the states of Hawaii, Idaho, Oregon and Washington. He also previously worked for the American Hereford Association as the Western region field representative, and he served as the Northwest regional manager for Allflex USA.
Patterson has a background in production agriculture, having grown up on a cow-calf Hereford operation in Declo, ID, and serving as the manager for Genoa Livestock.
“I look forward to working with such an innovative team that will elevate WLJ while maintaining its core values that the legacy was built on,” Patterson said. “I am truly honored to be a part of Western Livestock Journal and look forward to working with all Western producers and agricultural businesses.”
He added, “Current and future advertisers in the Western Livestock Journal are what allow this publication to be so prolific. I plan to work with advertisers on exploring every prospect and opportunity to advance their business, presence and brand equity.”
Patterson is a graduate of Colorado State University (CSU), with a bachelor’s degree in animal science. Before transferring to CSU, he was also a member of the livestock judging team at Casper College. He currently resides in Caldwell, ID, with his wife, Lauren, and son, Kellen.
“We are beyond excited to have Jared join the WLJ team, as he brings a wealth of knowledge with well-rounded experience that will be very valuable to the readers and advertisers of WLJ,” said Logan Ipsen, WLJ president. “He is an exceptional talent, and we are extremely confident in his abilities to be a leader for our industry.
“As WLJ moves into its second century of business and aims to bridge the gap between print and digital products, Jared’s understanding of a wide array of agriculture and connections will be valuable to generating editorial ideas, advertising streams and innovative ideas,” Ipsen concluded.
