A draft recovery plan for the Canada lynx is now available and the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service is seeking public input.
The plan addresses the lower 48 distinct population segment, which includes portions of Montana, Idaho, Washington and Colorado, and sometimes Wyoming. The lynx was listed in 2000 as threatened under the Endangered Species Act and the recovery plan aims to ensure the species’ long-term survival.
Recovery plans are non-regulatory documents and outline specific management actions to help species recovery.
