USDA is requesting public input by mid-February on how foreign filers report ag land holdings in the U.S.
The department is proposing to update the Agricultural Foreign Investment Disclosure Act Report form so that it includes data on long-term lessees, data to assess impacts of foreign investments on ag and communities, and to gather geospatial info.
The info collected from the public will help create an electronic submission system for foreign filers and improve data reporting accuracy, USDA said.
To submit input, visit regulations.gov and search for docket ID FSA-2023-0017. Input must be submitted by Feb. 16.
