The Idaho Farm Bureau Federation (IFBF) announced a $250,000 donation toward the University of Idaho’s (U of I) new $14 million meat science facility.
The 12,750-square-foot facility on U of I’s Moscow campus will be four times larger than the current one built in the 1960s. Scheduled for completion in fall 2025, it will be named the Meat Science and Innovation Center, honoring Ron Richard, who is credited with building the program.
Regional livestock producers can process animals there under USDA inspection, facilitating direct marketing, and employees from all segments of the meat supply chain will train there.
