A group of industry groups has penned a letter to the Bureau of Land Management, asking them to extend the comment period regarding the agency’s greater sage-grouse plan.
“It will be nigh impossible for stakeholders to provide the local, landscape-level attention that this plan requires in just 90—or 60, for (areas of critical environmental concern)—days,” the groups wrote.
They requested an extension until Sept. 11 for a total of 180 days. The letter was signed by the National Cattlemen’s Beef Association, American Farm Bureau Federation, Public Lands Council, American Sheep Industry Association and more than a dozen other state industry groups.
