The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service is extending the comment period on its proposed rule to revise the listing of the grizzly bear under the Endangered Species Act.
Comments were originally due by March 17, but the deadline has been extended to May 16. The agency proposes revising the listing of the species by defining the boundaries of the contiguous U.S. grizzly bear distinct population segment (DPS). The revised DPS would include all parts of the country that contain suitable habitat and where grizzly bears are currently found or likely to be found in the future.
