More than 80 environmental groups called on Congress to oppose the Endangered Species Act(ESA) Amendments Act of 2024, which would reform the ESA.
“The ESA is one of the most effective laws ever created to ensure that we don’t lose the precious biodiversity that we depend on for our survival as a species,” said Josh Osher, public policy director for Western Watersheds Project.
The bill incentivizes wildlife conservation on private lands, blocks critical habitat designations on private lands, empowers states to manage species recovery, removes judicial review for species removal and increases recovery transparency.
