Environmental groups and Tribes have intervened in another lawsuit challenging the Bureau of Land Management’s (BLM) new public lands rule.
The groups have filed to intervene in cases in North Dakota and Alaska, and now Utah to defend the BLM’s rule.
“We are asking the court to allow us to make the case that modernizing public lands management for conservation and climate protection in the 21st century completely adheres to the broad authority and responsibility the agency bears under well-established law,” said Barbara Chillcott, senior attorney at the Western Environmental Law Center.
The intervenors include San Juan Citizens Alliance, Badlands Conservation Alliance, Center for Biological Diversity, Citizens for a Healthy Community, Diné Citizens Against Ruining Our Environment, Sierra Club and WildEarth Guardians.
