Producers and landowners are now able to sign up for the Grassland Conservation Reserve Program (CRP) through June 28.
The program is a voluntary working lands conservation program for producers to conserve grasslands and provide conservation benefits while continuing most grazing and haying practices.
“Over the past three years, we have seen historic interest in the Grassland Conservation Reserve Program with producers signing up to conserve over 6.8 million acres,” said Farm Service Agency (FSA) Administrator Zach Ducheneaux.
More than 2.3 million acres were accepted during the 2023 Grassland CRP sign-up, with 8.64 million acres enrolled total in the program. FSA is also accepting applications for the Continuous CRP signup, which has been open since January 2023.
