The USDA is now accepting applications for the Grassland Conservation Reserve Program (CRP) through Aug. 8.
This voluntary program enables agricultural producers and private landowners to conserve grasslands while continuing grazing and haying activities. Nearly 9.7 million acres are currently enrolled in Grassland CRP, part of the broader 25.8 million acres in CRP nationwide. With a 27-million-acre cap, only 1.8 million acres remain available.
Interested participants should contact their local USDA Service Center to apply before the deadline.
