A new initiative funded by $19.3 million from the Bezos Earth Fund and $8.1 million from the Global Methane Hub will support livestock research to reduce methane emissions from cattle and sheep through natural selection.

Grants will support the development of tools to identify animals with low-emission traits and help breeding programs select livestock with improved climate efficiency. Efforts will take place in North America, Latin America, Europe, Africa and Oceania, advancing livestock management through data-driven selection and research.
