Colorado State University’s AgNext announced the Feed Additive Calculator Tool (FACT) for Beef to predict enteric methane emissions for the beef industry.
FACT for Beef is designed for use by cattle feeders and technical consultants to forecast enteric methane emissions from finishing beef cattle in line with USDA guidelines. FACT for Beef serves three primary functions: estimating baseline methane emissions for cattle based on feed intake and diet characteristics, predicting methane emissions with a methane-mitigating feed additive, and analyzing the economic implications of using the feed additive based on user-defined parameters such as carbon price, feed prices, cattle prices, performance impact and associated costs.
The FACT for Beef calculator can be found at agnext.colostate.edu/beef-fact.
