The Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City launched the Center for Agriculture and the Economy, strengthening its commitment to ensuring rural and agricultural voices inform national economic policy, the Fed said.
Jeff Schmid, bank president and CEO, said the center formalizes their longstanding investment in understanding agriculture’s vital role in the U.S. economy. Building on decades of research, surveys and industry engagement, the center will deliver timely analysis on emerging ag trends and rural economic conditions. Its insights will support policymakers as they assess monetary policy impacts on producers, markets and lenders.
