Explosion at Tyson plant leaves one dead 

An explosion at a Tyson Foods plant in southwest Georgia on Dec. 26, 2024, killed one person and injured several others.

According to local news outlet WALB, the Retail, Wholesale and Department Store Union reported a boiler explosion. Tyson is collaborating with authorities to investigate the cause.

The fire burned for three hours, collapsing a wall onto a parked semi-truck’s cab, killing Bajarma Batozhapov, 61, of Las Vegas, NV, who was asleep inside.
