The European Union (EU) has delayed its retaliatory tariffs until mid-April.
The EU planned to implement tariffs on U.S. goods worth about $28 billion on April 1 and April 13 following the Trump administration’s increase in tariffs on all steel and aluminum imports to 25%, as reported by The Associated Press.
European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen said the commission’s goal with the delay is to get the balance of products right, as well as negotiate with the U.S. to find a “mutually agreeable situation.”
