USDA’s Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) offers financial and technical assistance for producers applying conservation practices through the Environmental Quality Incentives Program (EQIP) and the Agricultural Management Assistance Program (AMA).
EQIP provides funding to producers and non-industrial forest managers to address natural resource concerns and deliver environmental benefits. AMA helps producers use conservation to construct or improve watershed management structures or irrigation structures, install high tunnels, plant trees to form windbreaks or improve water quality.
About $17 million is available to producers. Applications must be submitted by March 29 to enroll for this funding cycle. Application eligibility will be determined by April 26, and money will be obligated by June 14. For more information, contact your local NRCS office.
