Studies with consumer taste panels indicate there is no noticeable difference in the flavor of bone-in and boneless beef cuts.

K-State Research and Extension

The Beef Checkoff found 91% of doctors and health professionals recommend beef to their patients and more than 7 out of 10 have a favorable impression of beef as a high-quality protein.

The checkoff recently sent out 3,324 beef toolkits called Strong Minds and Strong Bodies, which focused on school-aged and adolescent nutrition to family practice and pediatric health professionals across 48 states. The toolkit materials included a “Dear Health Professional” letter, a MyPlate teaching tool and beef tips and recipes for parents.

A survey was sent to medical professionals and consumers to measure the program’s success.

The survey also found 74% of consumers stated their health professionals recommended beef as part of a balanced meal, and 76% prepared a meal with beef after receiving the handout for their children.
