House GOP members have reintroduced a bill to permanently repeal the federal estate tax, commonly referred to as the “death tax.”

The Death Tax Repeal Act is led by Rep. Randy Feenstra (R-IA-04) and is modeled after past Republican proposals against estate taxes.

“By fully eliminating the death tax, we can keep China away from our farmland, allow family farms and small businesses to succeed, and encourage the next generation of Iowa farmers and business owners to plant their roots in rural Iowa, support our main streets, and contribute to our economy,” Feenstra said in a statement.
