WeWork, a company that offers shared office spaces for small companies, freelancers, and other businesses that need occasional office space will no longer use company money to pay for meat. This means no meat at company functions and employees will not be reimbursed for meals that include meat. The announcement came from WeWork Co-Founder and Chief Culture Officer Miguel McKelvey who explained in part that the move is an effort to be more environmentally conscious. Gwen Rocco, senior director of corporate communications, told WLJ, “I want to clarify that employees and members are welcome to bring meat into WeWork for their own meals, and members are welcome to serve meat at events they host. This initiative only applies to food purchased with WeWork company money.” — WLJ
