Comments are due Friday, May 11 regarding President Donald Trump’s proposed retaliatory tariffs against China. The Office of the U.S. Trade Representative (USTR) specifically seeks comments from stakeholders on its list of proposed targeted trade goods from China and if the tariffs would negatively impact U.S. businesses. The list is long and wide-ranging, but the focus is mostly on technological items, appliances, manufacturing components, and other related goods. The USTR has said it “strongly prefers” that comments be submitted online via the www.regulations.gov portal. Search for Docket ID “USTR-2018-0005-0001.” More information, including the list of items targeted for increased tariffs, can be found there as well. If you wish to submit via a non-online means, please contact Sandy McKinzy at 202-395-9483. — WLJ
