Michael Hester, 37, of Larimer County, CO, was sentenced to 24 days in jail and three years of supervised probation for shooting and killing his neighbors’ cattle near Fort Collins, The Coloradoan reported.
Hester killed seven cattle near his Buckhorn Road property, leaving another fatally injured. Jordan Yarber, who lost several cattle, said the crime had a “profound impact” on his family, adding,
“The trauma of finding my animals injured and dead has been difficult to process.” Hester will serve weekends in jail and pay $27,000 in restitution as part of a plea agreement.
