The Center for Biological Diversity (CBD) has submitted more Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests. This time, the group seeks information on the sizes and locations of concentrated animal-feeding operations (CAFOs) in “Hurricane Alley” states of the Southeast. These states include Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, and North and South Carolina. The group claims the reason for the FOIA request is because people in flood-risk areas need to “know where to look” in the case of future flooding-related animal waste water contamination.
