Beef Bits Brief: Tyson Foods develops robotics

In more positive news for the company, Tyson Foods has created a new state-of-the-art facility to develop more robotics and automation.

The Tyson Manufacturing Automation Center (TMAC) opened on Aug. 8 in Springdale, AR.

It will provide a facility for developing manufacturing solutions and equipment suppliers.

“This facility represents our commitment to creating the next generation of manufacturing solutions through advanced automation, robotics and machine learning,” said Noel White, president and CEO of Tyson Foods, in an official statement.

TMAC is a two-story, 260,000-square-foot-facility consisting of four main areas: a machine vision technology lab, a food production environment simulation lab, training classrooms and an automation and robotics technology training room.

“Tyson Foods’ drive to implement robotic and machine vision automation technologies will help them be more competitive on a global scale, provide a safer environment for their team members, and more efficiently provide safe, quality food to people around the world,” said Jeff Burnstein, president of the Association for Advancing Automation.
