Plant-based burgers gain ground

Two more companies have hopped on the plant-based burger train.

JBS, the world’s largest meat processor, and Nestle, the world’s largest food company, have each recently announced their move towards launching the vegetarian burgers.

Currently, JBS is set to release the burger only in Brazil under their brand Seara.

The burger is made from soy, wheat, garlic, onions and beetroot.

The product was announced earlier in May and is expected to be available commercially in Brazil soon.

Nestle announced in early April that the company would be launching a plant-based burger across Europe and later the U.S. The Incredible Burger was launched in Europe in April, and is made with soy, wheat, beetroot, carrot and bell pepper.

The company has plans to launch another brand of burger in the U.S. this fall, called the Awesome Burger.

Nestle calls this burger a “cook from raw plant-based burger” and will be sold fresh as opposed to the Incredible Burger, which will only be sold frozen.

Tyson and Cargill have also announced plans to pursue the plant-based market.
