A local beef processing plant plans to expand its business in eastern New Mexico after receiving state funding.
USA Beef Packing LLC is the only USDA-approved plant in the area, and expects to hire 38 additional employees and receive $232,321 in funds from the Job Training Incentive Program board.
The company acquired a new 13,000-square-foot facility in Roswell, NM, which will be used solely for processing and packing.
The new site is likely to be open in April.
