Beef Bits Brief: McDonald’s testing McPlant burger

Next month, McDonald’s will test the plant-based McPlant burger, developed with Beyond Meat, for a limited time in eight select restaurants across the U.S.

“The McPlant was created to give customers more delicious options in addition to the McDonald’s burger lineup you know and love, with fan favorites like the Big Mac and Quarter Pounder sandwich still available nationwide,” the company said in a statement.

The meat-free patty’s ingredients include peas, rice and potatoes, and the burger will include lettuce, pickles, ketchup, mayonnaise and a slice of American cheese.

Starting Nov. 3, the McPlant will be available in select cities in Texas, Iowa, Louisiana and California.
